The machine is said to be ideally suited for the demanding requirements of the die and mould industries.

The Bridgeport GX-250 5AX 5-axis vertical machining centre (VMC) has been outfitted with a rigid C-frame, a compact footprint, a fully integrated 5-axis rotary table and a user-friendly Fanuc control, according to supplier Hardinge.

The centre has axes of 300 mm x 400 mm x 430 mm for shops that machine small, complex workpieces requiring both close tolerances and fine surface finishes.

The GX-250 5AX is provided with a Fanuc 31icontrol system which offers a range of standard features including Manual Guide I and simultaneously controlled 5-axes.
