K-Show 2013 is the leading tradeshow within the plastics industry, and as a leader in plastics size reduction technology, WEIMA will be present once again. The K-Show 2-13 will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 16th-23rd.

WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH (Hall 9, Booth A59) will be debuting the newest single-shaft shredder-- the WLK 800. The Spider 1500, which has an innovative drive shaft that is ideal for plastics shredding, will also be on display. Madison Burt (WEIMA America, VP of Sales) and Heiko Plankenhorn (WEIMA America, VP of Technical Operations) will be present at WEIMA’s booth. They will be able to assist any North American contacts that are present at the show!

The WLK 800 single-shaft shredder features a “pipe spacer” hopper design, which prevents material from bridging inside the hopper. The feed motion of the ram is load-dependent, which ensures that the shredder will not become overloaded. This model also features a swivel-screen basket that makes the rotor more accessible for preventative maintenance. The WLK 800’s counter knives are also able to be rotated, which adds to the life of the knives and minimizes wear costs.

The WLK 800 is ideal for processing all kinds of plastics such as purge, pipes, automotive parts, and blow-moulding materials (PET bottles, PE/PP bottles, buckets, cans, etc.)

The Spider 1500 H comes with a newly-developed hydraulic drive by Hägglunds-Bosch Rexroth. This drive adds to the overall energy-efficient nature of the machine due to lower driving power. There are also no power surges when the rotation reverses. The new drive is set up in a compact way that saves space and makes maintaining the machine much easier. The Spider 1500 H that will be on display at K Show 2013 will also feature a newly-designed ram position sensor and large rotor diameter.
