Metalcasting company Gieterij Drunen BV, Drunen, The Netherlands, was purchased in mid-October and re-launched by the buyer in November.
According to a company official, the metalcasting facility was purchased by Wärtsilä Netherlands BV together with local government and a group of investors.
“We are proud to announce the metalcasting-specific knowledge in Drunen has been saved,” said Bart Eekhout, sales manager.
Eekhout said Drunen will focus on the production of nickel-aluminum, bronze and steel castings for the maritime, offshore, petro-chemistry, power station, pump and machinery markets. The company produces both pre-machined and finish-machined ferrous parts up to 10 tons and nonferrous parts up to 40 tons. It has experience producing molds, channels, covers, impellers, pump parts, hydroelectric parts, tube plates, bearings, valves, water brakes, housings, spindle nuts, rings and vanes.
“Foundry Drunen BV has taken over all current offers,” Eekhout said.
