Japan-based Fanuc Ltd., the diversified manufacturer of factory automation machinery and robots, has transferred its injection moulding machine business in Europe, Fanuc Roboshot Europe GmbH, into Fanuc Robomachine Europe GmbH. Both companies are located at Neuhausen, Germany, near the Stuttgart airport.
The change took effect on April 1. At the end of March, Takeshi Oda handed over chief responsibility for the business management of Fanuc Robomachine Europe to Minoru Fujita, who is now president and CEO of the reorganized company. Oda has taken up a new leading position at the headquarters of Fanuc Ltd.
According to Fujita, 43-year old qualified engineer, this merger serves to improve the company's position under the prevailing economic conditions. "We will maintain a strong sales force in Europe for customer consultancy and order processing," he explains, "and we are also reinforcing our service network for fast delivery, commissioning and maintenance of the machines."
The merger has no effect on logistics. Neither company has to move: they have been neighbours in the same Fanuc building for years.
The predominant benefit for plastics-processing companies is that Roboshot electric injection moulding machines, Robodrill machining centres and Robocut wire-cut EDM machines for mould construction and repair are all available from one source. The operational advantages are a reduction of overhead and the consolidation of administrative resources, improved office and warehouse space utilization, and streamlined back-office and customer support.
The spacious showroom in Neuhausen accommodates all of the latest Robodrill and Robocut machines for performance demonstrations aimed at mould experts, as well as an extensive selection of electric Roboshot injection moulding machines for mould trials and for customer and personnel training.
