Grede Holdings LLC, Southfield, Mich., announced it has entered into a voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to improve energy efficiency through the Energy Star program.
“We believe that a strategic corporate energy management program will help us enhance our financial health and aid in preserving the environment for future generations,” said Doug Grimm, Grede chairman, president and chief executive officer.
In partnership with Energy Star, Grede will measure and track its energy performance, develop and implement an energy management plan, help spread the word about the importance of energy efficiency, support the Energy Star Challenge, a national call-to-action to help improve the energy efficiency of America’s commercial and industrial buildings by 10% or more, and highlight its achievements with recognition offered through the program.
“Energy Star partners are leading the fight against global warming by improving the efficiency of their facilities,” said Jean Lupinacci, chief of EPA’s Energy Star Commercial and Industrial branch.
Energy Star was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.
